Introduction

Department of Geometry is coeval with the university. The department maintains high-level research in the following four topics: algebraic geometry and the geometry aspect of mathematical physics; discrete and combinatorial geometry; classical non-Euclidean and homogeneous geometry; and computational geometry. The educational activity of the department consists of teaching basic mathematical subjects to students from different majors: mechatronics, energetics, chemical engineers, engineering managers and also geometry to mathematics students. The department is related to Strommer Foundation and Hungarian Society for Geometry and Graphics, which is supported by the department within its capability.
